Here you will find the most frequently asked questions and their answers

  • WHERE WILL I BE ACCOMMODATED?

We have three staff houses, all located in Timmendorfer Strand. There you will live in a single room or a double room with a colleague or friend. The rooms are individually designed. Most of them have their own bathroom. Most of them do not have their own kitchen. However, you have the opportunity to participate in staff meals during your working hours. Accommodation in the staff houses is provided for all those who work seasonally with us, depending on availability.

 

  • HOW DO I GET PAID?

You will be paid according to your performance. You will discuss the exact salary with our personnel manager.

 

  • WHERE ARE THE HOUSES LOCATED?

All three houses are located directly by the water. Only the promenade separates them from the sea. The Grand Hotel Seeschlösschen is located in Timmendorfer Strand. On the other hand, the Strandhotel Miramar and the SeeHuus Hotel are in Niendorf – a somewhat quieter part of Timmendorfer Strand.

 

  • HOW DO I APPLY?

  • HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE?

You must be at least 16 years old.

 

  • WHAT ARE MY WORKING HOURS?

You have the possibility to decide yourself how much you want to work. Your weekly hours can be between 25h and 40h. Depending on what you choose, you will either have more money or more free time.

 

  • DO I HAVE TO WORK ON WEEKENDS?

Yes, all of our employees have to work some weekends. In return, you have time off when others have to work.

 

  • CAN I DO WORK & TRAVEL WITH YOU ALL YEAR ROUND?

Yes, of course, We are always looking for motivated team members.

 

  • DO I ALSO HAVE THE OPTION OF CHANGING DEPARTMENTS?

In principle, there is the possibility, but it depends on how long you want to stay with us, as the individual departments have different training periods.

 

  • DO I NEED PRIOR KNOWLEDGE?

No. Of course, we appreciate it if you have worked in a similar area before. However, concrete knowledge is not necessary. Everyone is welcome to join us!

  • HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE?

You must be at least 16 years old.

 

  • WHAT ARE MY WORKING HOURS?

You have a normal 40-hour week. (5 days of work and then 2 consecutive days off).

 

  • DO I HAVE TO WORK ON WEEKENDS?

Yes, all of our employees have to work some weekends. In return, you have time off when others have to work.

 

  • IS THERE A MINIMUM STAY?

You can do your holiday internship with us if you want to stay at least 3 months. In exceptions, shorter periods are also possible. Please send your request to hello@workbythesea.de. Longer stays are of course also possible.

 

  • DOES THE ACCOMMODATION COST ME ANYTHING?

No, for our holiday interns, the accommodation is free of charge.

 

  • ARE THERE STAFF MEALS?

You get one hot meal included per day when you are on duty.

 

  • DO I ALSO HAVE THE OPTION OF CHANGING DEPARTMENTS?

In principle, there is the possibility, but it depends on how long you want to stay with us, as the individual departments have different training periods.
